Living Local Ad 2019 - Conference.png

For the eleventh year in a row, we're cultivating a space where women from every walk of life can come together to be inspired, supported and enveloped in our community. We want you to walk away energized, motivated and maybe with a few new friends too! Take the day to really unplug, invest in yourself and make a plan for 2019 to be the year of a fearless YOU! Our theme, "The Fearless Woman: Tools for Embracing a Courageous Life” will give you the tools to identify your fears, release them and in doing so, make your dreams, passions and desires a reality. Expect to laugh, expect to cry, and expect to reconnect with the things you’re really passionate about. Basically, expect to leave the day a better, more courageous you.

Morning Meditation: Nicole Hutto

defining our fears

Nicole Hutto was born and raised in Minnesota, The Land of 10,000 Lakes.  Graduated from a private high school and attended the College of St. Catherine with a double major in Art History and Studio Art.

After finding her way to Sandpoint in 2000, she instantly fell in love with the community, the land and her neighbor.  Who she is currently happily married to.

Nicole Hutto is an accomplished healer through many ancient modalities.  And has created a successful international healing practice.   Her training has been with Reiki masters of the Japanese Usi tradition, Cranial Sacral masters and with the Liaka, Quero medicine men and women of Peru through very intimate one on one experiential education in which she continues that tradition of sacred teachings today. Offering many workshops in personal growth.  Currently offering a nine-month journey through the medicine wheel.

Coming from a broken home and many challenges as a child and teenager, Nicole learned at a young age the importance of courage, self-trust, compassion and living with love.

Nicole has a deep passion for the earth and all of humanity.  Striving to support optimal health and wellness by empowering individuals to be aware and self-referencing in their own unique gifts and trust in the miracle that each person is to heal themselves.  She will help guide you where to look, but is up to you to choose what to see.

Teri Mathis

Fearless, Face-to-Face Networking: Making the Room Work for You

Teri Mathis is a veteran of more than two decades in institutional advancement, beginning at Gonzaga University then moving to Colorado to serve at Colorado State University and the University of Colorado system. Family and health matters brought her home to the Inland Northwest, where she worked in communications and development for Empire Health Services before opening her multi-faceted communications business, PivotPoint Consulting Associates.

Through PivotPoint, Teri works with local, regional and national businesses, family foundations and emerging 501(c)3 organizations to identify core values, discover leadership pathways androll out creative strategies. Teri enjoys putting together projects and facilitating great teams, but she’s always happiest with a camera, pen or microphone in her hand, getting the face-to-face story of the people and work that make great experiences happen.

Passion alone is seldom enough to make an impact. Teri believes in the hard work of preparation and follow though for personal and professional success. She teaches hands-on skills for professional life and leadership development at all levels, balancing the needs of individuals and the expectations of organizations through honest, safe communications.

Teri is an award winner speaker for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, an international professional association of development professionals. She doesn’t like cocktail parties, but she loves to dance, cook, throw costume parties and read murder mysteries. In her spare time, she manages the fourth-generation family tree- and honey-bee farm in North Idaho, sails on Pend Oreille Lake and makes a lot of jam. She is married and has one successfully launched (fingers crossed!) son who is now living in Florida.
